Why this archive exists and what it is for.

Why this archive exists

Families remember for about three generations. After that, names begin to blur, branches are forgotten, and the connections that once seemed obvious become impossible to reconstruct. This archive exists so that does not happen to ours.

What began as four hand-drawn shajra documents is now a permanent, searchable record: every recorded name, every parent and child link, every branch, and the exact relationship between any two people in the family.

What this archive is built on

Accuracy before completeness

A missing name recorded honestly is worth more than a confident guess. Where the source could not be read, we say so.

Everything is traceable

Every person and every relationship cites the document, page and part it came from, so any claim can be checked against the original.

The family owns it

Corrections and additions come from the family, through a review process, so the record improves over time without losing its history.

Privacy is the default

Lineage is shared; personal contact details are not. What is private stays private.
